Our Mosaics Pathway

Take a walk from the entrance to the Park (on the far North side of the carpark behind the Sheffield Shed, and follow our lovely Mosaic pathway filled with depictions of Native animals, Flora and Fauna which winds its way to our Gallery and New Mural (scroll further down to see images).

Written by Jane Lemon in recognition of all those who have contributed to our lovely Mosaic pathway.

Fantastic community achievement

Please don’t forget about all the volunteers, school children, teachers, and community members, from Kentish and as far away as Devonport, Ulverstone and Port Sorell who fitted into or put aside their busy lives to contribute to the tens of thousands of hours that went into the project.
They not only completed the enormous amount of work and paperwork that went into the application for the TCF grant, drawing  plans, securing sponsors, collecting materials and organising workshops before the pathway could even begin, they also put their backs into the formwork, concreting, laying  the mosaics in the path, the landscaping etc. and the making of the mosaics (without which it would just be a boring concrete pathway) sometimes late into the night.
One must also pay homage to the large number of sponsors, both big and small. Without any one of which the project may have been more difficult, taken longer, or not gone ahead at all. Having the full support of Kentish Council and the Tasmanian Community Fund grant was paramount.
An AMAZING effort by ALL.
