DECEMBER 4th : ENCAUSTIC ART (PAINTING WITH HOT WAX)
Tutors: EVELYN ANTONYSEN and MAURICE EVANS
2 hours. 10.30 to 12.30 p.m.
$10 plus small charge for materials used or bring medium to heavy weight gloss laser photo paper or similar as the support, tissue or rice paper for collaging and children’s wax crayons or if you have them, coloured beeswax crayons, and clear beeswax blocks. You may want to incorporate acrylic paint into the activity. You will also find a pigment ink pen useful (or purchase on the day for $3.50)
Evelyn and Maurice will demonstrate how they work with hot wax. You will then do an initial small free form work and one incorporating a pigment ink illustration. Finally you can combine collage materials, pigment ink pen, paint and hot clear beeswax to create an original contemporary artwork. (Note you may need to wait at times for your turn to use the craft irons as we are not able to provide one for each participant).

NOVEMBER 20th WET-IN –WET WATERCOLOUR
Tutor: MARGARET COOMBES
3 hours. 10a.m. to 1p.m.
Cost $15. (Bring your own materials. Margaret’s preferred watercolour paper for her style of work is Saunders Waterford 300gsm Rough. Full sheets ($7.50) and quarter sheets ($2), will be available for purchase at the workshop).
Margaret will do a demonstration painting then assist you as you follow the instructions or choose to do your own work.
