What a fantastic job the TRA-K members and committee has done on setting up the gallery next to the Visitor Centre. The diversity and quality of work being exhibited is very impressive and I look forward to visiting again soon. Congratulations to all involved! Cheers

IMAGE TRANSFER WORKSHOP

NEW WORKSHOPS COMING THIS WEEK!
There are still some spaces left in this workshop.
You will learn how to incorporate printed images into you art through various methods.
......collage
......image lift
......ink transfer onto watercolour paper
......image transfer using acrylic mediums.
Different results are obtained by each method.
Time permitting we may also look at wax image transfer.
Due to the small amounts of media needed and difficulty obtaining some, I will provide all materials for transfer... there may be a small fee (under $5).
Please bring an old painting (not your latest, very best prize winning work) or new surface (watercolour paper, or cartridge and/or canvas) on which to apply images. Also bring small images to transfer if you prefer to use your own than mine.

A great celebration

Thanks to everyone who helped make last Friday a huge success. It was lovely to see the new lights and heaters in action and so many new faces through the door.

THE SPICE OF LIFE (january 2011 Exhibition) Most of this display will stay until end February as our new exhibitor is unable to hang her work.

VARIETY is The Spice of Life
hence the title for this exhibition which showcases a variety of subjects and media. Putting it together did reinforce, however, that my ever surfacing passion is for seascapes in mixed water media. Read more on my blog (link to right) and see more images on my Facebook profile..... or better still call up to Sheffield Working Art Space and see not only this exhibition but a wide range of creative works from North West Tasmanian Artists.

ENCAUSTIC ART WORKSHOP

The slideshow below shows participants and some of the works created in the recent workshop on ENCAUSTIC ART... painting with melted wax. They did a wonderful job and Maurie showed us all how he enhances his mandalas with encaustic effects.
It was such fun and I must admit the results (not just the small selection photographed) were wonderfully creative.
